
In an unfortunate turn of events, Marvel creator and comic book marvel, Stan Lee, passed away on Monday. He was 95. According to earlier media reports an “ambulance rushed to Lee’s Hollywood Hills home” early Monday morning. He was reportedly taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he breathed his last.
The comic legend, who was 95-year-old, wasn’t keeping well for some time now. In the past one year, he has reportedly suffered from a number of illnesses including pneumonia.
An American comic-book writer, editor, film executive producer, actor, and publisher and former editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, Stan Lee was revered for more reasons than one. He was also honoured with a National Medal of Arts in 2008 among other honorary accolades.
Stan Lee is survived by his daughter Joan while his wife had passed away last year. She was 69.
Lee’s daughter reportedly told media, “My father loved all of his fans. He was the greatest, most decent man.”
Soon after the news surfaced, Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to mourn his demise. He wrote, “Damn… RIP Stan. Thanks for everything.”
For his fans, Stan Lee was a real-life superhero. He is credited for creating Black Panther, Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Mighty Thor, Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Daredevil and Ant-Man among others – Stan Lee has given cinema buffs and readers across the globe several memorable characters that people continue to swear by.
