Alisha Abdullah is more than a bike racing champion, for many young girls, her achievements shaped their dreams of conquering the world.
Titled India’s first female national racing champion, Alisha’s entry into the world of bike racing was celebrated as one of those rare momentous occasions when a woman dares to break a taboo in our country.
She credits it all to her father “ My dad is a national bike racing champion. So while my mum was pregnant she used to accompany dad to the race track. I guess, the passion just got to me at a very young age.”
This Chennaiite today has a number of feathers on her cap, she is trained in both bike and car racing, she is an entrepreneur and an actor.
When quizzed about an advice she would give her younger self , she says, “Always keep your head high and feet on the ground, because the faster you fly the faster you come down. Always stay grounded.”
Speaking about the challenges she faces on the track, Alisha says, “Well nothing is easy in life, right now I had a bike accident on the track. Again, it wasn’t my mistake. My fellow teammate hit me straight on my ankle and I had to undergo a major surgery. It is going to take months to get back ! But then I have always been very smart on the track.” “I am a person who trusts people especially in my sport,” she says “One of the biggest lessons I’ve had is not to trust people,” she laughs and adds “I know I should have learnt it long ago!”
Speaking about her go-to hobby for relaxing, Alisha who owns her own Cosmetic label and Skin clinic ‘Charissma Aesthetic Studio, says “I take care of my clinic, since I love this field too it is something that helps me relax and ease my mind.”
Alisha speaks about her future plan and says “I have my own team , but right now I need a break for myself.”
I’ve been racing from the age of 8 and I’m 30 now !
I’m still the only woman who owns a racing team in both cars n bikes So I need to share my knowledge with other women n infact I was the one who got women in racing in India. To sustain her position at the top of the game, Alisha practices racing during weekends and also trains at the gym every day for hours. Certainly, her success story holds a testimony to what a passionate and ambitious woman can achieve in her life.

The Irumbu Thirai actress announced on her social media page that she has been appointed as the Tamil Nadu State Women President of National Human Rights Anti Crime and Anti Corruption Bureau. She adds that by taking up the position, she has huge responsibilities to carry forward.
